Andrew Owl

Andrew Meyer – Chief Executive Officer

Andrew has been in the publishing industry since the mid-70s, with a career that encompasses book publishing (consumer – hard and soft cover – plus educational and tertiary publishing) and magazine publishing. After completing his studies as a graphic designer and getting a law degree from UNISA, he started his career in publishing:

Imraan Mahomed – Chief Financial Officer

Imraan studied for a Bcom Degree at Wits University. In 1997, he did his articles at GL Palmer & Co. He consulted for the Laser Group before joining Uniglobe Travel as the Group Accountant. In 2002 he joined Isikhova as the Financial Manager and then as Shareholder and Board Member.


Adri Owl

Adri Viviers - Editor

Adri acquired her degree in Journalism and her BA (HONS) in Media Studies from the University of Pretoria where she also served as news editor for their weekly student newspaper, Perdeby. She joined Isikhova Publishing as news journalist immediately after completing her studies. In 2008, Adri took over as editor of Jewellery Biz-News and became editor of SA Jewellery News, Odyssey SA and Jewellex Today in 2009.


Alice Owl

Alice Weil - Watch Editor: SA Jewellery News

Alice is now entering her 32nd year with the magazine. She was born in Cape Town and attended the Michaelis School of Art at the University of Cape Town, qualifying in Commercial Art. She worked for Engelhard Industries as a Junior Executive - a company which dealt in precious metals (gold and platinum), as well as forestry and plastics - and remained with them for 10 years. Alice moved into a new field, writing short stories for the SABC Radio's Short Stories from Near and Far. With encouragement from her second husband (who stated: "If you don't like it, you can always resign"), Alice accepted a writing position with SAJN - then known as Diamond News & SA Jeweller - in 1968.


Rui Owl

Rui Victor Chirindja - Communications

After matriculating in 2003, Rui completed a one-year certificate course on the Introduction to Communications and Marketing at the Tshwane University of Technology. After completing his National diploma in International Communications in 2008, he is currently busy with his B-Tech Degree. Rui worked as a mortgage consultant before joining Isikhova Publishing & Communications.


Joanne Brook - Art Director

Joanne completed her BA degree in Graphic Design at Design Centre in Greenside and immediately joined Isikhova Publishing, where she was promoted to head of studio in 2007.


Chantelle Owl

Chantelle Johnston - Layout

After matriculating in 2004, Chantelle studied Graphic Design and Multimedia at the Design School of Southern Africa. She graduated in 2007 with a Degree in Graphic Design and Certificates in Flash and Web Design. She received her Certificate in Graphic Design from the London College of Arts in 2008.


Tanja Jordaan

After matriculating in 1991, Tanja studied Theatre Technology at Tshwane University of Technology graduating in 1995. For 12 years Tanja worked in the film industry as an Art Director and Set Designer before joining media sales specialising in product placement in feature film.


Thuli Owl

Thuli Majola - Administration

Thuli joined Isikhova in 2004 after completing her matric at the Limehill High School in Ladysmith in KwaZulu Natal. In 2007, she obtained a Diploma in Office Administration from Damelin.
