THAI GOVERNMENT TO PROMOTE THAILAND AS GEMS AND JEWELLERY HUB

With the Thai government’s initiative to promote Thailand as a hub for gems and jewellery, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports will be supporting the Thailand Gems and Jewellery Fair which is scheduled to take place 15-18 June.

“The cabinet has approved the initiative which is why the Ministry of Tourism and Sports is determined to promote Thailand as a gems and jewellery shopping destination for overseas tourists,” says Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul, Minister of Tourism and Sport. “We have several jewellery streets which are already well-known, from Gems Street on Mahesak Road, Gold Street on Yaowarat Road, to Silver Street on Charoenkrung Road, Khaosan and Pratunaam Area.”

The Thailand Gems and Jewellery Fair official launch was held last week, 5 April. This will be Thailand’s first-ever mid-year jewellery show. “The Thailand Gems and Jewellery Fair will provide a great opportunity for buyers and sellers in the industry to network and grow their businesses,” says show organisers.
